The artist has hand-carved intricate designs along the otter's body to represent the arms and legs and the fur of the creature. The tail of the otter curves upward and that is where the hook of each earring is attached.

These Otter Earrings have been hand carved by Tlingit artist Fred Myra. He used sterling silver to create these circle dangle earrings. The hangs have carvings on the surface of them depicting the Otter 

The earrings measure 1.3/4" (4.5 cm) x 1.1/8" (3 cm) including the hooks.
