The hummingbird has a long, narrow beak and is drinking from a flower that the artist has hand-carved at the bottom of the pendant. The artist has also hand-carved a wing to the right of the hummingbird's head with intricate designs representing the feathers of the legend. The "background has been carved into a crisscross pattern.
