5 Ways To Style Jewellery With Short Hair

5 Ways To Style Jewellery With Short Hair

Earlier this year, I chopped off all my hair. I’ve never had short hair before and I was deeply worried I would regret the decision. However, my pixie cut has opened up so many opportunities for styling and accessorizing. Other women, such as Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, also found that her short hair allowed her to explore her personal style a little more.

On certain face shapes, short hair can really take your look to a whole new level. Your face is more defined, your cheekbones pop, and you can really start to play with new accessories. With short hair, you can test out both masculine and feminine looks depending on how you style your jewellery.

Here are some things I’ve learned about accessorizing with short hair.

Consider Your Face Shape

If you haven’t read our blog on how to find your face shape, I highly recommend it. With shorter hair, your face shape can change drastically depending on which earrings you wear. Some earrings are better suited for your face than others. Other earrings will accentuate features such as your forehead or your eyes. Depending on what kind of look you want, certain earrings change the shape of your face.

Consider Getting Additional Piercings

Shorter hair allows you to show off your ears more. More piercings means even more ways you can accessorize with your earrings. These days, having more than one ear piercing is normalized and still looks professional depending on how you style it.

Coordination is Key

When accessorizing with short hair, coordinate your earrings with your hairstyle and makeup. For example, let’s say you have some killer statement earrings you want to wear on a night out. To rock this look and really make your earrings shine, pull your hair back so your earrings and face are the main focus. Match your makeup to the colours of your earrings. Rocking a look like this will really accent your facial features.

Statement Necklaces Are Your New Best Friend

Now that your hair is off your neck, your statement necklaces will really start to make some noise. Your short hair will allow you to play with different necklines. Try rocking edgier looks like an amulet-style choker, a dramatic lariat necklace, or layer several necklaces on each other.

Short-haired women like Audrey Hepburn, Mia Farrow, Jada Picket Smith, and Rhianna are all style icons. Some of their most fashionable eras are when they first embraced the short hair life. If you recently just made the same leap of faith, try styling items from your jewellery box and wardrobe that may have felt intimidating to you before. I couldn’t tell you what it is about short hair that makes you feel a bit braver when it comes to personal style.
