Terrence Campbell was born into the Wolf clan of the Tahltan Nation in Telegraph Creek, British Columbia. His Tahltan name is Eth-Cath-Kee, which means "Teacher of the Children". At 22, he started to study wood carving under master carvers Dempsey Bob and his sister Dale Campbell. In 1982, Terrence, along with his sister and Haida artist Alvin Adkins, carved a 30 foot totem pole adjacent to the Museum of Northern British Columbia in Prince Rupert, BC. Though he had dabbled with making jewellery in the past, it wasn't until Terrence traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for the Canadian Cultural Show in 2000 where he developed a serious passion after seeing Southwestern style jewellery. He learned the art of Tuffa casting under Navajo artist Rick Charlie and now combines Northwest Coast and Southwestern style to create truly one-of-a-kind wearable art.
