Ivan Dobren was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He immigrated to Quebec at a young age and began school in Canada. As a high school student, Ivan started to make jewellery as a summer job and he carried this on into university to finance his education. He eventually decided to quit traditional university and continue his jewellery making as a profession. To accomplish this goal, he attended L’Ecole Norman Bouchard, a prestigious jewellery making school in Quebec. Since graduating from the program, Ivan has been creating custom design jewellery in sterling silver, gold, semi-precious stones and diamonds. Ivan is a member of MAQ, an artists’s association in Quebec, and currently lives in Montreal.
