      Born in Vancouver in 1990, Edwin Neel is a First Nations cultural producer of Kwagu'ł and Ahousaht descent. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University and received formal training in Kwakwaka'wakw formline and carving from his father, David Neel. Influenced by Wayne Alfred, Beau Dick, and Lyle Wilson, Neel specializes in sculptural production, particularly masks, blending Kwagu'ł and Nuu-chah-nulth styles. He carries traditional names from both cultures and honors his lineage, following in the footsteps of renowned carvers Ellen Neel, Mungo Martin, and Charlie James.
