Cory Bigcharles

Cory Bigcharles was born in 1974 in Edmonton, Alberta. When he was a teenager he moved to Vancouver to live with his father. While living in Vancouver, he spent time with the Hall family and was introduced to the arts of the NuXalk Nation. There he first learned the colours, stories and the meaning of the art and its representation. During this time, he connected to powerful spirit of art and Cory began his journey into the world of Indigenous art. He started with drawing and painting, then moved to carving, and is currently focusing on gold and silversmithing. Cory never makes two pieces the same and his art is now enjoyed in private collections around the world.
