Gold Sun with Emerald Eyes

This one of a kind sun pendant with emerald eyes is hand carved in 14k gold by First Nation Haida artist, Gitkinjuaas (Ronald E. Wilson).  This round sun pendant with rays is a great example of repousse work.

The pendant measures 1.3″ x 1.25″ (3.5cm x 3.2 cm). The chain is sold separately.

About the artist: Gitkinjuaas (Ronald E. Wilson) was born on June 4, 1945. He is the Cumshewa Chief of the Eagle Clan of Cumshewa. He owns a number of different crests: Cormorant, Eagle, “T” formed by the raised part of a copper, Halibut, Hummingbird, Frog, Beaver, Hawk, and Martin-skin hat. His carving is done in gold, silver, argillite, wood and ivory. Gitkinjuaas spent four years at Vancouver School of Art from 1966 to 1969. He also spent one and a half years at Thunderbird Park training in wood carving with Henry Hunt Sr.  Gitkinjuaas sold his first piece of artwork in 1962 and continues to add to private collections today. He currently resides in Haida Gwaii.
